Two Kinds Of Riders.

Every one seems to be on one side of motorcycling or the other, love them or hate them. I in my younger (more carefree) days, would have been on the love'em side. Years and Children have put me more on the fence. Sounds fun but I have too many other things on my plate to be enticed. Most men don't get the mother thing so anyone close to us knows Chet still sits very comfortably on the love his bike side of the line. I may have cursed Chet. Before we went out of town for Thanksgiving (to be blogged soon) I was running with a couple of my neighbors in the morning one of which is my good friend who's husband has a bike and is very active in their bike club. The other is Chet's good friend Bruce who we both have a lot or respect for (He's a really good guy). Bruce is no fan of the bike thing and in our run mentions that "Chet through him off with the whole bike thing." I then go into my sales pitch and justification about how Chet is a really good rider and wears all his gear and knows how to handle his bike. Fast forward a few days. Sun. morning I leave for California with the kids. Chet is only going to be home a few hours by himself ( he leaves Mon. morning for Vegas). I get to Paul and Laura's (Chet's sister) house get all settled in and that evening and get a call from Chet. He's all upset telling me to promise not to be mad. Because well he has crashed his bike!!!!!! Yes he is okay. Thankfully it was not a big crash. He hurt his bad knee and ankle and was really sore for a few days. Then my favorite part. Because I was not home and could not assess the damage myself and decide if he needed to go to the hospital. I sent him to our neighbor Annemarie who is a nurse to make the assessment for me. Who is Annemarie you ask, Bruce's wife!!! Guess I have to eat my words!

Back to the beginning Two Kinds Of Riders. There are the riders who have been down and the riders who are going down. I am very grateful that Chet's turn on the pavement was a minor one it could have been a lot worse then eating my words. Sorry no pics of the situation.

Coming Soon the Thanksgiving Blog with lots of Pics from our trip!

Still Alive

We are still alive!!! I didn't have time to blog before I left for our Thanksgiving trip to North Cali. We are still here having a blast. I have had no time to even check my email let alone check my blogging buddies. The six kids under one roof has been fun but crazy! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and I have tons of pics and stories to put up when we get back!

Got to catch-up!

Yahoo! I was able to go out of town for the weekend so I have a lot of catch-up blogging to do!

1- Boys and their toys! Chet has one of these phases every now and again. There is no use fighting it. (ok I like them a little too but don't tell him I get to use it as leverage!)

2- Halloween (in an effort to try and live in the moment and be grateful for everyday with nothing out of the ordinary and not be sarcastic) was soooo much fun trick or treating with the neighbors! One of the neighbors hooked up his four-wheeler to a trailer full of hay and we had a hay ride around the neighborhood. It worked out great for me Carson wanted to ride the four-wheeler the whole time and the girls ran from house to house.

3- The YAHOO part! I went to Long Beach, CA for the weekend and met up with my Mom, Sisters, Sister in-law and Cousin. We went to Time Out For Women where my oh so famous cousin Hilary Weeks was a star! It was great! My family was fun to be with and I got to ride an airplane by my self and finish a book! One of the best parts was returning home to a very clean house!!! Can I just say every mother needs a little recharge every now and again ;)
